ABOUT THE COMPANY – EASTERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is responsible for providing, developing and facilitating a multimodal transport system for its residents that is safe, reliable and affordable.

ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED & SELECTION

The EC Department of Transport will be awarding bursaries within the following fields of study:

  • Maritime Studies (3 year qualification) (3 bursaries)
  • Pilot License (PPL/CPL/ instructor rating) (4 bursaries)
  • Traffic Diploma (30 bursaries)
  • Traffic Engineering (3 bursaries)
  • Transport Economics (3 year qualification only) (5 bursaries)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Good academic record
  • Studying or applied to study full time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Meet the admission requirements of your selected University/ tertiary institution
  • Achieved a minimum level 4 for Mathematics and Science in Matric (or other major subject required for your field of study)
  • Proven financial need
  • NOT in receipt of any other bursary funding
