ABOUT THE COMPANY – ABSA

Absa Bank Limited (Absa), previously known as “Amalgamated Banks of South Africa”, was founded in the year 1991 as is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Barclays Africa Group. ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED

Every year, ABSA awards bursaries to a handful of deserving students who are currently pursuing their tertiary studies. Bursaries are awarded within fields relating to sector in which the company operates, in particular the following fields:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Statistics
  • Risk Management
  • Mathematics
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Agriculture and Forestry

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study (3 year Bachelor’s Degree/ 4 year Bachelor’s Degree/ Honours Degree/ Masters Degree)
  • Completed your first year of study (as a minimum)
  • Studying at a recognised University in South Africa
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
  • Have no working experience
