A group provides short-term and life insurance as well as investment products to a diverse customer base, including individual consumers, commercial entities and corporate clients is looking for Group Financial Manager CA(SA).

Duties & Responsibilities

A group provides short-term and life insurance as well as investment products to a diverse customer base, including individual consumers, commercial entities and corporate clients is looking for Group Financial Manager CA(SA).

The successful Group Financial Manager CA(SA) will be responsible for:

  • Management and Statutory – financial reporting and providing technical support to the Group finance function and Life business unit
  • Responsible for all internal and external financial reporting requirements
  • Preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual Life divisional and entity inputs into Flash Results, Management accounts, Group Exco and Board packs
  • Review Business Performance Measures (Performance cell levels) and provide analytical support to the Group Reports
  • Provide financial support in assessing business performance by monitoring the key financial metrics, key ratios, regulatory risks, insurance reserving and other governance and risk management practices
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process across the Life Division / Consolidated Group
  • Perform duties and maintain financial controls within the financial reporting environment and drive balance sheet controls / management across the Group (Centre / Life Division)
  • Preparation of the consolidated Annual Financial Statements
  • Ensure IFRS17 Implementation and Group Consolidated AFS
  • Provide technical accounting support to business units and drive implementation of technical standards

Qualifications:

  • CA(SA)

Experience:

  • 8/10 years’ experience
  • 5 years with Group Reporting Experience
  • Insurance Industry experience preferable
  • Passion for Technical Accounting / Reporting Exposure
