Introduction
Our client, a leading supplier in raw materials to the Food & Beverage industry, currently has an exciting position available for a candidate who will be responsible for establishing a strategy to penetrate the pharmaceutical market in Southern Africa with the quality product offerings available from our global pharmaceutical principals. This person will also be responsible for building on the existing pharmaceutical busines that the Company enjoys.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for helping lay the foundations of a strategy to grow and penetrate the pharmaceutical ingredient market in Southern Africa.
- This will involve researching the market, understanding the competition, understanding the gaps, learning and understanding our principals offering, and subsequently implementing a strategy along with our global distribution partner, to actively increase market presence of our principal’s product ranges.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- The candidate must have a proven track record with at least 4 - 5 years’ experience in the marketing and sale of pharmaceutical ingredients
- Willing to travel domestically and when required internationally
- The candidate must feel confident to present feedback to international principals monthly
- The candidate must be self-motivated, willing to work under pressure and excited to face challenges head on
- Should have enough industry knowledge and contacts that upon receiving a list of principal product offerings, should immediately feel confident to present the range to the industry.
- Proven track record with major pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturers
- These ingredients include but are not limited to: -
- Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API’s)
- Botanical extracts
- Nutraceuticals
- Excipients
- Experience in working with leading international manufacturers of pharmaceutical ingredients
- Tertiary education in business and /or sales and marketing is required
