An organisation established in 1966. Through strategic acquisitions and mergers is looking for an Operational Financial Manager CA(SA) in the Cape Town Offices.

The successful Operational Financial Manager CA(SA) will be responsible for:
- Develop partnerships across the business in order to drive execution of finance activities.
- Manage the operational finance team and day-to-day operational finance activities.
- Review of account balances, monthly journals and recons on a monthly basis.
- Be responsible for the year-end audit and engagement with the auditors to streamline the audit process.
- Engaging with internal auditors to ensure to ensure auditing of controls are tested and improve internal control processes.
- Review of annual financial statements and audit files annually.
- Provide input into continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for optimising profitability, cost reduction or system enhancement.
- Support the finance business partners in execution and delivery of the above, as well as providing subject matter expertise from an IFRS/Accounting perspective
- Responsible for implementing IRFS17
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders that promote cross delivery practice solutions
- Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal involvement, commitment and dedication in support of organisational values
- Select and recruit suitably qualified talent in line with Employment Equity principles
- Optimally utilise the budget for area, including the authorisation of expenditures and implementation of financial regulations
- Manage high risk and problematic financial issues in area of accountability and contribute to the development of policy
Qualifications:
- BCom Honours
- CA(SA)
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years Post in Financial Management in an Insurance environment
- Knowledge of the Insurance and Investment Industry and applicable regulatory requirements and legislations
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Risk Management principles.
