To provide initial professional education of high quality for students wishing to become qualified as professional teachers in South African schools.
To provide a hih quality development path for under qualified teachers who are currently teaching in South African schools, enabling them to become professionally qualified teachers.
To provide a postgraduate professional development path, through a deepening engagement with the interrelationship of research, theory and practise, for professionally qualified teachers.
To extend and deepen research into current critical issues relating to quality, relevance and access in education in South Africa, Africa and the world.
