To be the successful candidate our client is looking for, you will have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power system or Electrical and Electronics and be well versed with the Kenyan grid system – more specifically on the O&M aspects, the flux and flow of powers to and from the grid. Your statistical analysis abilities will make you stand out from the rest and will aid in the provision of operations data to the KPLC. Apart from your day-to-day duties, you will find yourself responsible for running a 400kv substation as well as its backup systems. Drawing on your previous experience, carrying out dispatch of power instructions from the KPLC will be no challenge to you. Your robust knowledge on SCADA systems will come in handy to control turbine outputs in line with dispatch instructions.

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or Electrical Control Systems or Electrical Power system
- 4 + years’ dispatch experience in a grid-connected power system control room
- Sanctioned to operate the KPLC grid system is highly beneficial!!
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the Kenyan Electrical Grid systems
- Previous experience with backup supply systems in a power station
