Elangeni TVET College Nsfas Application

The Elangeni Tvet College Bursary is available to all qualifying NCV and Nated Students Bursaries offers through the DHET Financial Aid Scheme. The Institution provides bursary programs including the National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and other financial support services. This scheme is administered by NSFAS (National Students Financial Aid Scheme).

A National Means Test Tool determines who qualifies for the bursary. Students, who do not qualify for NSFAS bursary, will have to pay the full appropriate tuition fees.

Applicants who are approved for NSFAS funding are covered for the following:

Registration
Tuition
Food
Accommodation or transport
Learning material
Personal care

Will the bursary fund cover all eligible students who apply?

The bursary does not cover all students in the college due to the limited bursary funding available.
Students who are awarded bursaries have to pay the money back after the completion of their studies.
TVET College students do not have to pay the money back as it is a bursary allocation and not a loan.

Who is eligible for the TVET College Bursary Scheme?

A South African Citizen,
Registered or intend to register for NCV or NATED (Report 191) Programme,
In need of financial assistance,
Able to demonstrate potential for academic success.

The following documents are to be submitted by students when applying for a bursary?

4 certified copies of the student’s ID
Both parents/ Guardian’s Certified ID copies
Both parents/ Guardian proof of income (latest payslips/pension card/child support grant card)
Sworn affidavit by parents/guardian if unemployed
Certified copy of death certificates in the event that mother and/or father are deceased
Proof of address (utility bill or letter from Councilor)
Certified copy of your landlord’s ID copy if renting private accommodation.

HOW TO APPLY:

-Please visit the NSFAS website – nsfas.org.za or follow the link on our website – https://www.elangeni.edu.za/

-You may also choose to visit any Buffalo City TVET College Campus – Student Support Service for assistance.

-Please ensure that you have the correct documents (certified not older than 3 months) in electronic format available.

- Your South African ID or a birth certificate( if you do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card)
- ID of parents and/or guardian or death certificate where applicable.

– Pay advice/letter of employment/ pension advice stating income of parents and/or guardian (SASSA slips are not
required and SASSA should not be included as household income

-Please ensure that you download the CONSENT FORM and that it is completed by your parent/s and or guardian – this
