Introduction

A position has become available for a Training Technician to join our dynamic team on a 6 month contract in Pretoria.

Role Summary

Plan, develop, coordinate, institute, monitor, validate and report on manufacturing and LPWR launch program training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct training needs analysis for the responsible Manufacturing plant/Stream and for new launch programs by involving all stakeholder affected by the program Develop outcomes-based training courses and programmes
  • Develop training material (training plans, trainer guides, learner guides, assessment documents)
  • Conduct practical and theoretical training for manufacturing (Assembly Operators, Repairman, Learnership, Skills Programmes)
  • Assess employees for competence (RPL, pre-employment and on skills competency by per stream)
  • Perform training needs analysis, develop training plans and implement the training plans
  • Evaluate training impact on the business
  • LPWR Activity:
  • Determine staffing requirements from HR Manufacturing of new employees in preparation for new vehicle launch program or production
  • Develop a training plan & schedules of Production Learners (for Learnership programs) to support manufacturing with skilled assembly learners.
  • Determine new facility and equipment that is installed as the result of the plant changes and develop schedules to train in the operations of the equipment.
  • Develop LPWR Master schedule for the new model launch
  • Develop launch training tracking templates to be utilized to track all launch activities in relation to training
  • Track, monitor and report on all LPWR launch training interventions to all stakeholders
  • Plan and prepare static training and facilitate the delivery of static off- line training and dynamic training for the new model launch
  • Schedule FPS training requirements to support new model launch
  • Compile training records and reports for the new model launch and report the progress of training to all stakeholders
  • Plan, track, monitor and report versatility training as per LQOS standard
  • Develop training programmes that addresses production defects issues
  • Process improvement and monitor improvements
  • Adhere to SHARP and ISO 9000 quality requirements
  • Maintain discipline with trainees
  • Maintenance and record keeping of tools, machinery and training venues
  • Ensure availability of training materials at all times
  • Complete any reasonable tasks inline with technical training as instructed by training associate

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Experience

  • National diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics or Artisan Motor Mechanic + NTC 4).
  • Assessor qualification
  • Facilitation (Train-the-Trainer)
  • Coaching
  • Mentoring
  • Understanding of SAQA, NQF, Merseta and learnerships
  • Programme development in terms of outcomes/competence
  • ODETDP knowledge would be an advantage
