NRF Honours Scholarships for Full-time Studies in 2020

The DST and NRF are pleased to announce a call for applications for Honours/BTech Scholarships for Full-time Studies in 2020.

The Honours/BTech Scholarships are open only to South African citizens or permanent residents.

Scholarships are intended to support Honours/BTech, candidates to pursue studies in all areas of Science, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, and Humanities, including Priority Research Areas.

Applicants must apply on the NRF Online Submission System at https://nrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za and follow the application process set out in the attached Framework documents and Application and Funding Guides.

 

Please Note: Prospective Applicants need to read the attached documents carefully as well as pay particular attention to the following scorecard (Table 3). The scorecard is how the NRF will rate your application. Please ensure that you do the required to increase your chances of receiving funding for your 2020 academic year. You are strongly encouraged to do exceptionally well in your mid-year exams, the NRF will only consider applicants with an average percentage of 65%.

**Students who received a “Pass” and have not entered a percentage pass mark will be given a default score of 1.

Applicants who have completed their degree must upload their final undergraduate degree percentage marks (to assess academic merit) and indicate the completion time for the degree on the NRF online system.

Applicants who have not completed their final year undergraduate degree must not complete; Academic Merit and Completion time for undergraduate Degree on the online application form. However, the universities must upload this information before the application is sent to the NRF for consideration.
