Introduction

Medical Practice based on the Berea, Durban requires a Medical Practice Manager/Bookkeeper to oversee their busy practice, manage their reception area/staff, liaise with doctors and patients.  Must have Pastel bookkeeping experience. Must have own transport and have job stability.

Duties & Responsibilities

ACCOUNTING/BOOKKEEPING DUTIES:

  • * Plan and coordinate patient schedules
  • * Order medical and office supplies
  • * Design and implement office policies
  • * Manage financial aspects – billing, banking, rolling of month-end on the medical billing system for medical practioners
  • * PAYE and UIF
  • * VAT Returns
  • * Billing  – Rental invoices, ensuring rental is received on time
  • * Deal with correspondence, complaints and queries
  • * Personal Assistant to the Director
  • * Paying of creditors / salaries for admin staff
  • * Working out the commission for medical practioners and paying their salary
  • * Leave for admin staff / register or deregister staff with UIF
  • * Managing Business on Line banking on various bank accounts.
  • * Reconciling of credit card payment and paying practitioners the credit card money
  • * Reconciling to management account on Pastel for the auditors / liaising with queries for the auditors
  • * Checking leases on a monthly basis – rent increases or renewal of lease
  • * Preparing telephone and printer schedules monthly
  • * Checking medical aid submissions on a daily basis
  • *Assisting at reception whenever its too busy or short staffed
  • * Over-seeing the billing for the various medical centres
  • PRACTICE DUTIES:
  • * Responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating staff and office activities on a daily basis
  • * Hiring and training of administrative staff
  • * Ensuring efficient operation with all staff and practitioners – various branches
  • * Purchasing of groceries for 2 practices
  • * Sorting issues with internet / telephone and the medical programme
  • * Making sure our centre is COVID compliant
  • * Liaising with reps and health care official

Desired Experience & Qualification

Pastel Bookkeeping experience

Own vehicle and drivers licence

Mature, well spoken and well presented

Able to handle people at all levels

Strong communication

Excellent attention to detail and accountability

 

Package & Remuneration

R15 000 (slightly negotiable), no benefits
