The Graduate Trainee role is a development pipeline for key roles within the Transnet Port Terminals TPT Operations. The programme seeks to place graduates in specific areas with the Productivity Improvement Division PID, according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements. The Graduate Trainee will receive exposure in the various areas specified below, through participation in various productivity improvement initiatives throughout the TPT terminals.
Minimum requirements: • B. Degree or National Diploma Industrial Engineering Logistics Management/Production Management • previous work experience, including vacation work, will be an advantage but not a determining factor a valid Code B drivers license.
Exposure and training in the following areas will be provided: • TPT Terminal Operations Management • Operations and Process Improvement and design projects • Change Management methodology and tools • Project Management • statistical and business analysis • stakeholder engagement and management • research specialised technical data and present findings and recommendations influencing project deliverables to PID.
Knowledge: • project management methodologies • process improvement methodologies • MS Office software range. Skills: • excellent communication both written and verbal • analytical • interpersonal
attention to detail • teamwork • sense of urgency • ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
Please note that the Graduate Trainee role is a 2-year fixed-term contract development programme.
