Introduction
A position has become available for a Sonographer to join our dynamic team, based in the United Kingdom.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Sonographer must be adequately qualified to perform their role, and must not perform any scans for which they are not qualified.
- Perform transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound scans in obstetrics and gynaecology, across a range of gestational ages of pregnancy.
- Write accurate and professional medical ultrasound reports for gynaecology scans and obstetric scans.
- Perform 4D obstetric ultrasound scans in pregnancy (training can be provided if needed).
- Knowledge of use of GE, Toshiba or Philips ultrasound systems.
- Knowledge of basic Microsoft office programmes for report writing and storage systems.
- Ensure customers are treated with respect and empathy and receive a fun and friendly service, in line with our organisational values.
- Refer customers to a diagnostic scanning service where necessary, following the Referral Policy.
- Liaise with other team members to ensure scans are booked in correctly.
- Assist the Registered Manager to form community links with the local healthcare community, professionals and relevant local business.
- Provide an expert’s perspective and work with the Registered Manager to ensure policies and procedures are effective.
- Work with the Registered Manager to develop new services and scanning packages based on your own skills and expertise.
- Understand the commercial aspect of private ultrasound scanning and assist with the upselling of additional products and services, as well as follow-up scans.
- Attend all training prescribed by the Registered Manager, working towards your own Continued Professional Development.
- Report any suspected safeguarding issues, following the Safeguarding Procedure.
- Assist the Receptionist with their duties if necessary, including answering the phones, taking bookings and greeting customers.
- Any other duties commensurate with the pay grade, seniority and expertise of the role.
Desired Experience & Qualification
UK registration with the Health Professions Council (HCPC) – highly advatageous.
