Introduction
Our client, in the retail industry, requires the service of a quality control manager who will be responsible for maintaining and improving good practices by providing assurances that all standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key performance areas:
- Manage, update and maintain all quality control forms and checklists
- Conduct monthly in-store inspections to assess handling of products and crates during transport and at receiving at store level
- Ensure accuracy and calibration of all equipment for the quality control area
- Train and oversee training of staff regarding all quality assurance checks conduct quality control inspections with receiving and release of products
- Ensure accurate and consistent record keeping and filing of forms and checklists
- Provide monthly quality assurance reporting on all non-conformances
- Manage all on-hold and rejection of products
- Responsible for periodic internal audits
- Assist with external audits
Desired Experience & Qualification
The successful candidate must have:
- Matric with a Degree in Quality Control / Food Science or relevant qualification
- At least 2 years relevant experience in a pack-house or distribution centre
- Knowledge of fresh foods, supply chain or cold storage
