Purpose of the Job
To account for all precious and base metals entering and leaving Refineries as well as for metals in different stages of processing in support of the company’s production objectives and optimization of profit opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- A relevant NQF level 7 qualification required i.e., BSC (Chemical Engineering or Chemistry).
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years relevant work experience in the refining/production (plant) environment essential.
- Good communication, interpersonal and information management skills required.
- Must have good report writing, problem solving, time management, numerical / calculation skills.
- Sound knowledge on computer systems with highly efficient computer-, and presentation skills essential.
- Detailed knowledge of production processes/environment essential.
- Detailed sampling theory and sampling system knowledge essential.
- In depth knowledge of statistics and statistical technique essential
- Sound high level business, processing, and metal balance modelling knowledge essential.
- Must be medically fit for PMR.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Refineries (Base Metal Refinery and Precious Metal Refinery) metal accounting functions.
- Compile the Company’s Production Business Plan on an annual basis adhering to strict time constraints via the use of high-level business modelling.
- Co-ordinate and manage stocktakes in the relevant production areas.
- Provide book stock metal inventory adjustments to Group Audit Committee (CFO) impacting financials/balance sheets.
- Conduct audits and reviews of metal accounting practices.
- Ensure that subordinates are trained and developed in line with IDP’s and the succession planning policy of the company.
- Undertake and complete specific projects to manage metal accounting systems, i.e., MAPS/EOR.
- Generate timeous metal accounting reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
