Introduction

Our client, a leader in the automotive component manufacturing sector, is looking for a Night Shift Plant Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan Plant and manage logistics, warehouse
  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times and efficiency
  • Manage daily operations in the plant facility and resolve any arising problems or complaints
  • Test and monitor plant processes
  • Maintain housekeeping, safety standards and efficiency of the facility
  • Manage KPA’s of subordinates and supervise, coach and train workforce
  • Effective and fair application of disciplinary procedures to subordinates
  • Meet cost, OEE, productivity, accuracy and timelines targets
  • Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • Manage daily receiving of components as per ROP and ensure production lines remain active
  • Maintain effective communication with the relevant suppliers (transporters, customer, etc)
  • Ensure all shipments are dispatched on time and there are no SSN’s
  • Communicate shortages to production, attain timing and make special shipping arrangements if need be
  • Ensure Legal Compliance is always maintained
  • Remain in compliance with facility ISO standards and all HSE guidelines
  • Prepare, analyze and issue production and performance reports
  • Maintain all administrative records
  • Control costs to achieve company budget goals
  • Control preventative maintenance program on shift

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years manufacturing experience
  • Proven working experience as a Plant Manager, incl. logistics management
  • Computer literacy essential (Windows, MS Excel, MS Word)
  • JDE Experience
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • Has led root cause analysis investigations
  • An aptitude for equipment operation, troubleshooting and related staff-training

Package & Remuneration

R50,000 based on experience
