Introduction
The purpose of this job is to ensure all new store openings deadlines are in place so that the store can open as per the opening dates. To provide sound leadership & direction to the Regional & store Managers. To ensure that all stores within a region are following & implementing the sales & marketing strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job specifications/responsibilities:
Leadership & Direction
– Provide clear & sound direction to the regional managers within the Division, ensuring there
is clear focus & co-ordination of all activities in the regions
– Ensure that there is teamwork across regions within the division
Sales
– Ensure that all stores within the Division are meeting the daily & monthly sales targets
– Compile an action plan in order to correct the sales performance on poor performing stores
– Achieve budgeted sales
Shrink
– Ensure that all stores within the Region & Division are adhering to the admin audits
– Ensure that the regional manager is taking corrective action against the stores that are
meeting the audit requirements
– Ensure that all stores that do not meet the business requirements of 0.6% are audited & action
plan put place
Staff Management
– Ensure that the team structure is manned by motivated & empowered staff & lead by sound
performance management & transformational leadership practices
– Set standards for individual & overall performance & take steps to ensure it operates as a
high performance & effective team
Budget & Financial management
– Ensure store profitability
– Ensure costs are monitor & that remedial action is taken where any deviations from budget
occur
– Implement financial & procedural controls in liaison with the Regional Manager
Operational Efficiency & Effectiveness
– Ensure Policies, Procedures & Controls are implemented
– Ensure that stores’ performance are monitored & evaluated in terms of:
i. Cost saving targets
ii. Customer satisfaction
iii. Budget performance
iv. Recoveries
– Ensure new stock levels are constantly monitored & maintained
– Ensure product ranges are enhanced to retain existing & attract new customers
– Ensure marketing events & promotional campaigns are planned to boost turnover
– Ensure competitor stores are visited to understand service/product offering & report to
Divisional Executive
– Ensure new ideas & plans to enhance in store customer satisfaction are developed
– Ensure compliance with OHASA for the safety of staff & customers
– Ensure that all stores are implementing consistent strategies to maintain the image of the
brand
Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification:
– Matric or Retail & marketing diploma Experience:
– 10 years or more of retail experience
– Minimum of 5 years managing a store
